JOY & HAPPINESS ARE CHOICES

If you follow me on Instagram, then you already know most of my recent posts have been about JOY.

This post is to tell you how to experience joy and happiness daily.

Most of us were not taught or given the proper mindset tools as children and teenagers and even young adults! So we are left there to our own demise to figure out how the heck to BE HAPPY.

You probably stumbled on this blog post because you were wondering how the heck you can unlock your true happiness and FINALLY love your life.

And sorry to break it you, but there are no magic pills or quick fixes. If you truly want to feel happiness and joy daily, you have to make it a daily intention, and no it is not a magic pill, but it is honestly quite easy to do.

What’s a daily intention you ask? - It’s a a statement or mantra you say to yourself out loud or in your head or you can write it on paper/in a journal. My daily intentions as of recent are “Today I choose joy and will therefore experience joy” and “I will find joy in the ordinary today”. I say these and other similar mantras to myself every morning before I start my day and throughout the day, ESPECIALLY when things get difficult.

By now you’re either:

  1. Shaking your head saying that’s crazy beans OR

  2. Shaking your head because you’ve tried this mantra stuff and it just ain’t workin’

All I have to say it TRUST THE UNIVERSE and RELEASE CONTROL. The moment you surrender to all expectations of how your day is going to turn out, I promise you if you set these intentions and just trust the process, you will absolute experience at least one moment of joy at some point in your day. Then as you continue this daily practice your whole world will flip upside down and everything you do will begin to bring you joy and happiness.

When I set my intentions for the day, I began to notice myself talking to strangers more, walking around with a smile for no reason at all, and meeting new friends!

This practice, like anything else takes practice and repetition to become a habit, so please give yourself grace and patience. Joy and happiness is a daily practice, it is not a right.
